I'm currently reading the Herald Sun about this supposed ring of cheating in VCE and goddamn am I pissed off about it! What gives these people the right to believe they can have an unfair advantage over everyone else? I hope that VCAA throws the book at them and doesn't just take off a couple of ENTER points - instead they should lose that whole subject score or at the VERY LEAST lost that exam mark (which would screw their subject score anyway.) But you know what? They'll only get a slap on ther wrist, a couple of stern words and that's all. I think as VCE students we've all got a right to be mad about this one, especially those of us who did the tainted subjects.

Anyways I worked on the Valedictory Dinner video yesterday after John Nguyen rang me Thursday night telling me Lahiru's PC blew up (he overclocked his video card and then played for a bit too long, resulting in a meltdown of that hardware :| ) and he needed someone to help him edit TEN TAPES worth of footage. IN TWO DAYS. Well, it took me about a week to go through the final assembly video properly so this is a real slapup job. Plus the footage goes along the lines of "Methods class, Spec class, Chem class, soccer people, Spec class again, library" so it's the same people over and over and over again. We should be right with it though; if not I'm not taking any blame for it, they should have worked this out earlier. So if the video's crap don't come crying to me, if I didn't do it there wouldn't be one at all!

Enough ranting for now. Did I ever mention how DAMN good Audioslave's Cochise is? Well, it's fan-bloody-tastic. And when exactly do you guys get time to watch Springer? Geez get out of the house :P < /irony >

See you all Monday night, I would hope. The Masoncam will be making a final school appearance so watch out!

Apologies on the vicious postings but I think I made some good points. I found out I missed the second concert too, it was announced minutes after the first sold out. Of course by then I was offline, and by the time I realised, chance no 2 was also gone. :(

Congrats on posting Thommo!

Think what you want. Which more deserving bands did they screw? Please inform me because I'm dying to know!

Incidentally when was the last time you heard silverchair? Have you listened to all of Diorama? I'm not talking about the old grunge teen angst silverchair here, I'm talking the amazingly talented combinationt they are now. Spin their CD before taking a potshot; there's never right or wrong music, just music people like and don't like. And I, like quite a few other people it seems, like their brand of music.

Second rate? Never in million years! Four award winning albums and the likes of David Bottrill, Paul Mac and Van Dyke Parks working on the latest album aren't the marks of a one hit wonder. If those names don't ring a bell look them up through, their reputations all precede them. To label a band as "second rate" is a rather dangerous assertion. To whom are they second in line? Bands like Grinspoon, who not only took a page out of the "development of a rock band" book that the 'chair wrote, but stole the whole damn thing? Once again, please inform me of these other "first rate bands" (and I use that term lightly) because I'd like to have a listen to them.

Feeling sorry for them? I won't deny that Daniel Johns' debilitating illness probably did throw in a sympathy card. But this argument is far outweighed by the critical reviews that the album received. Why did it sweep the Arias? simply because it was the best. Simple really. Diorama is more a musical experience than a set of tracks on a flimsy piece of grooved plastic.

In my opinion, sonic and technical brilliance, outstanding songwriting and the grandiose orchestral feelings of certain bands outweighs the repetitive lyrical angst and drone of others. But hey, that''s just my opinion.

Fixed up the pics Cal, I changed the pics links into actual html links. You can still see the pics but they're just not on this page. And you're right, it's probably a Geocities thing.

In other news I failed valiantly in my attempts to secure Silverchair tickets. Sale began 9:00 EST, and everythign was sold out by 9:15. Not to worry tho - at that speed, there's probably a high possibility of a second show being announced.

Runchey, since when does ' it ' rhyme with ' :P ' ??

I just spent 20 minutes trying to fix up the blog page cos Mike posted three bloody pages (probably) of underscores to cement his argument. Cal, yr images were deleted cos they were bigger thant the actual page :P Don't mind Sarah Jane though, but as you mention she's a whore to the media. Even went as far to lead the MCG before last year's Carlton v Hawthorn game with a rendition of YMCA as we tried to break the record for most people simulataneously doing that famous dance. But I digress.
